CENTER ADMINISTRATOR/LEAD TEACHER: This full time position is with our Utica Head Start/Early Head Start Center. The Center Administrator manages daily program operations and staff supervision. In coordination with component managers, provides overall center program leadership. Administers and implements policies and procedures at assigned site to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and State Licensing Regulations. Maintain quality environments with attention to safety and health prevention measures. Function as a liaison between central office leadership, staff and community collaborators. Assure active recruitment is occurring in the areas of the community that best reflects the program’s target population. Responsible for personnel issues, including but not limited to recommending hiring and terminating of center staff, staff conferences, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, etc. Conduct monthly staff meetings and individual meetings as needed. Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate center activities which may include evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field plus a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an early childhood education program with Supervisory experience. Experience in Step Up To Quality Rating System and Head Start preferred but not required. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance and a clean driving record for work related driving. Must be computer literate and have experience in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and have the ability to learn new systems. Ability to lift 45 pounds as needed. Strong organization and time management skills required. Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Salary range $17.63 – $20.83 per hour depending upon education and license.

FAMILY SERVICE WORKER: We have full time positions with our Utica and Marysville Head Start Centers. Please specify location when applying. This position is responsible for coordinating, collaborating and facilitating the effective delivery of social services and parent involvement to Head Start children, families and staff in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing regulations. This position operates as a liaison between classroom and home settings. Responsible for developing a partnership with families including the following: Assessing strengths and needs, developing goals using the Family Partnership Agreement, connecting with families resources to meet needs, and collaborating with other agencies to ensure easy access to resources. Conduct recruitment activities according to the LEADS recruitment plan in order to maintain 100% enrollment.

The qualified candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field. Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree, Social Work Certificate or Licensure. Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving. Must complete a pre-employment physical examination drug screening. Salary range $12.11 – $17.39 per hour.

HOME VISITOR: This full time position works with our Head Start/Early Head Start programs in Delaware. To provide in-home instruction as well as group socialization experience to parents and children which will enhance the parents’ ability to fill the role of primary nurturer of their child. Maintain on-going contact with families and work with all components (health, nutrition, family services, mental health, special services, parent education and resource/referral) to integrate services into the family setting. Must meet requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state, and/or agency policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate must have or be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate family needs, may include some evening or weekend hours. Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. TEACHER: This position with our Newark Head Start/Early Head Start Center is responsible to provide a successful, safe and supervised educational setting for the children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area and field trips). To promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of Head Start children. To provide frequent contact with the families of the Head Start Children in the classroom and at home. To keep accurate written notes to develop individualized goals for the children, provide on-going assessment and successful transition into Kindergarten.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or in the process of obtaining). Preference will be given to applicants with Pre-K certification or license; 2 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education program is preferred; must have experience in classroom management in a preschool setting, with an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance for work related driving. Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving. Must complete a pre-employment physical examination drug screening. Salary range: $16.40 – $18.46 per hour, depending upon education and license.

ASSISTANT TEACHER-Full Time: We have full time positions with our Newark, Delaware and Marysville Head Start/Early Head Start Centers. Please specify location when applying. This position is responsible to assist the classroom teacher in providing a successful, safe, and supervised educational setting for the children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area, and field trips). To assist the classroom teacher in promoting the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of Head Start children. To provide frequent contact with the families of the Head Start children in the classroom and at home. To assist the classroom teacher with keeping accurate written notes to help develop individualized goals for the children, provide on-going assessment and successful transition into Kindergarten.

The successful candidate must have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Preference will be given to applicants with Pre-K certification or licensure. Applicant must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, and a clean driving record for work related driving. ASSISTANT TEACHER-Part Time: We have positions with our Buckeye Lake and Utica Head Start/Early Head Start Centers. Please specify location when applying. This part time (28 hours) position is responsible to assist the classroom teacher in providing a successful, safe, and supervised educational setting for the children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area, and field trips). To assist the classroom teacher in promoting the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of Head Start children. To provide frequent contact with the families of the Head Start children in the classroom and at home. To assist the classroom teacher with keeping accurate written notes to help develop individualized goals for the children, provide on-going assessment and successful transition into Kindergarten.

The successful candidate must have a CDA and/or Associate’s Degree or pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Preference will be given to applicants with Pre-K certification or licensure. Applicant must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, and a clean driving record for work related driving. Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, complete a background check and a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Salary range: $9.83 – $13.08 per hour depending upon degree and license.

HOUSING INSPECTOR-AUDITOR: This position is with our Community Services division in Newark. The Housing Inspector will inspect each job to determine what work needs to be completed and then a final inspection to ensure that the work was done properly. Ensure Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) standards are followed for each home as outlined in the Weatherization Program Standards (WPS) manual. Give careful attention to proper inspection, installation, or repair, and to the quality of work.

The qualified candidate must have minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Experience and/or training in construction trade, home weatherization or related field. Must have or be willing to obtain training within the first 180 days of position on the use of blower door, duct sealing/ pressure house diagnostics, inspector/estimator skills, heating unit inspections, maintenance and repair. Must have or be willing to obtain training within the first 180 days of position Building Analyst Certification, Building Performance Institute Training and American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers Certification.
Must be willing to obtain training and certifications required by the Ohio Service Department Agency. Must sign a non-conviction statement and submit to a background check, including but not limited to, BCI and FBI Criminal Records. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving. Must complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening. Salary range $17.35 – $18.98 per hour.

WEATHERIZATION TECHNICIAN: The Technician with our Community Services Division in Licking County is responsible to perform work on homes as outlined in the work order according to specific program standards. Complete any home repairs and weatherization as needed for each job. Perform general activities involving insulations, air sealing, glass and plexi-glass cutting, frame building, painting, and other duties as assigned. Perform general warehousing activities involving loading and unloading of vehicles, sorting and stocking of materials, equipment, and other related duties. Must be able to climb ladders, work in tight quarters and unclean conditions at times. Must be able to stand for eight hours per day. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to work with and be sensitive to the needs of low-income, elderly and/or minority residents.

Experience and/or training in construction trade, home weatherization or related preferred but not required. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance. Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, and complete various background checks. Salary range: $11.31 – $12.73/hour.
