COVID-19 CUSTODIAN: The COVID-19 Custodian will perform a full range of maintenance and custodial duties related to the cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting of agency buildings in Newark to limit the potential exposure to and spread of COVID-19.

Candidates must have general knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and equipment used to clean buildings and furniture to limit potential exposure to and spread of COVID-19. Ability to learn and perform repetitive tasks quickly. Must be able to bend, reach, and stand for extended periods of time.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, and complete various background checks including a pre-employment drug screen. Salary: $12.36/hour.

SOCIAL SERVICES COACH MENTOR: The Social Services Coach/Mentor position is a new Full Time position and is responsible for supporting and guiding Family Service Workers in coordinating, collaborating and facilitating the effective delivery of social services to Head Start families and staff in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS). The coach/mentor job expectations will align with the Relationship Based Competencies (RBC’s), Parent Family and Community Engagement Framework (PFCE) and Trauma Informed Care Practices and will be used in collaboration with Family Partnership Manager for training and Family Service Worker assessment.

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology or related field that includes coursework in principles of social work, child development, counseling and/or psychology. Understand and practice the 5 Core Competencies of Social Work: Practice with professionalism, Practice in an ethical manner, Use critical thinking and professional judgment, Embrace diversity and Advance human rights and Socioeconomic Justice. Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving.   Must complete a pre-employment physical examination drug screening. Salary $18.29 per hour.

CENTER ADMINISTRATOR: This full time position is with our Delaware Head Start/Early Head Start Center. The Center Administrator manages daily program operations and staff supervision.  In coordination with component managers, provides overall center program leadership.  Administers and implements policies and procedures at assigned site to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and State Licensing Regulations.  Maintain quality environments with attention to safety and health prevention measures.  Function as a liaison between central office leadership, staff and community collaborators. Assure active recruitment is occurring in the areas of the community that best reflects the program’s target population. Responsible for personnel issues, including but not limited to recommending hiring and terminating of center staff, staff conferences, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, etc.  Conduct monthly staff meetings and individual meetings as needed. Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate center activities which may include evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field plus a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an early childhood education program with Supervisory experience. Experience in Step Up To Quality Rating System and Head Start preferred but not required. Must be computer literate and have experience in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and have the ability to learn new systems.  Ability to lift 45 pounds as needed. TEACHER: We have positions with our Newark, Utica and Marysville Head Start/Early Head Start Centers.  Please specify location when applying. This position is responsible to provide a successful, safe and supervised educational setting for the children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area and field trips).  To promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of Head Start children.  To provide frequent contact with the families of the Head Start Children in the classroom and at home.  To keep accurate written notes to develop individualized goals for the children, provide on-going assessment and successful transition into Kindergarten.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or in the process of obtaining). Preference will be given to applicants with Pre-K certification or license; 2 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education program is preferred; must have experience in classroom management in a preschool setting, with an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices.  Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance for work related driving.  Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Salary range: $17.02 – $19.17 per hour, depending upon education and license.

ASSISTANT TEACHER- We have positions with our Marysville, Delaware, Utica and Newark Head Start/Early Head Start Centers. Please specify location when applying. The successful candidate must have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.  Preference will be given to applicants with Pre-K certification or licensure. Applicant must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, and a clean driving record for work related driving.  Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, complete a background check and a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Salary range: $10.03 – $14.59 per hour depending upon degree and license.

FOOD SERVICE AID: This full time position (32 hours) assembles and delivers healthy meals to Head Start/Early Head Start Centers in Licking County.  Ability to lift and load food carriers from floor to van.  Ability to maintain high level of daily repetitive motion with arms and hands.  Ability to stand and walk for most of an eight (8) hour day.  Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen sanitation.

Must have a High School Diploma or GED required.   Must complete background check which includes BCI and FBI Criminal records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information system and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance for work related driving.   A physical examination and drug screen is required before employment. Salary $9.84 per hour.

SUBSTITUTE ASSISTANT TEACHER: We are accepting applications for Substitute Assistant Teachers at various locations with our Head Start/Early Head Start program.  Duties include but are not limited to: Supervise and monitor children at all times. Assist classroom teacher in establishing and following a consistent schedule, which includes small and large group experiences, planning, recall, choice time, music and movement, large and small motor, outdoor play, meal(s), snack(s) and effective transitions between activities.

The successful candidate must have a High School diploma or GED. Applicant must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, and a clean driving record for work related driving.  Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, complete a background check and a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Salary $8.70 per hour.

WEATHERIZATION TECHNICIAN: The Technician with our Community Services Division in Licking County is responsible to perform work on homes as outlined in the work order according to specific program standards. Complete any home repairs and weatherization as needed for each job. Perform general activities involving insulations, air sealing, glass and plexi-glass cutting, frame building, painting, and other duties as assigned. Perform general warehousing activities involving loading and unloading of vehicles, sorting and stocking of materials, equipment, and other related duties. Must be able to climb ladders, work in tight quarters and unclean conditions at times.  Must be able to stand for eight hours per day. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to work with and be sensitive to the needs of low-income, elderly and/or minority residents.

Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and experience and/or training in construction trade, home weatherization or related. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance. Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, and complete various background checks. Salary range: $12.36 – $13.93/hour.

HOUSING INSPECTOR-AUDITOR: This position is with our Community Services division in Newark. The Housing Inspector will inspect each job to determine what work needs to be completed and then a final inspection to ensure that the work was done properly. Ensure Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) standards are followed for each home as outlined in the Weatherization Program Standards (WPS) manual.  Give careful attention to proper inspection, installation, or repair, and to the quality of work.

The qualified candidate must have minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Experience and/or training in construction trade, home weatherization or related field. Must have or be willing to obtain training within the first 180 days of position on the use of blower door, duct sealing/ pressure house diagnostics, inspector/estimator skills, heating unit inspections, maintenance and repair. Must have or be willing to obtain training within the first 180 days of position Building Analyst Certification, Building Performance Institute Training and American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers Certification.

Must be willing to obtain training and certifications required by the Ohio Service Department Agency. Must sign a non-conviction statement and submit to a background check, including but not limited to, BCI and FBI Criminal Records. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving.   Must complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening. Salary range $17.35 – $18.98 per hour.
