LEADS, Inc., a community action agency in Licking County, has the following job opportunities available:

CENTER & VOLUNTEER MANAGER: The Center and Volunteer Manager position within our Community Services Division will work out of our Pataskala Center.  This full time position is responsible for all customer service employees and volunteers at all locations to ensure that customers are receiving the outreach services they need and that all monthly ROMA and Service area reports are completed and filed on time for all programs, grants and funding sources.  The Center and Volunteer Manager will oversee and manage all LEADS Food Pantries. Responsible for coordinating food pantry purchases, deliveries, unloading, and stocking. Recruit, supervise, and manage all volunteer staff as needed, including training, conflict resolution, performance management, etc.  Assists Community Services division with center fundraising and community relations. Assist customers with emergency assistance (utility, rental, etc.) as needed. Determine eligibility and compliance with established rules and regulations. Input customer data in various computer programs. Must be able to work with and be sensitive to the needs of low income, elderly and/or minority clients.  Answer multiline phone system and take accurate messages. Candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to perform mathematical computations.  Must be comfortable speaking in public.  Able to work flexible hours to meet business needs.  Able to lift up to 35 pounds. Must be able to stand for up to 2 hours at a time.

The successful candidate should have a High School diploma or equivalent with 5-10 years’ experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  Must have 1-2+ years’ supervisory experience. Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Must a have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance. Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, and complete various background checks including a pre-employment drug screen. Salary range: $15.86 – $16.84 per hour.

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE: The Customer Service Representative position within our Community Services in Newark is responsible for performing general office functions such as typing filing, faxing, etc. Perform program intake and provide assistance to our clients and the community.  Responsible to collect and verify all required information and enter it into various systems.  Must be able to work with and be sensitive to the needs of low income, elderly and/or minority clients.  Answer multiline phone system and take accurate messages. Candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to perform mathematical computations.  Able to work flexible hours to meet business needs.  Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Preference will be given to candidates with 1-2+ years’ experience within the customer service environment.  Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance. Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, and complete various background checks including a pre-employment drug screen. Salary: $12.87 – $13.26/hour.

COVID-19 CUSTODIAN: The COVID-19 Custodian will  perform a full range of maintenance and custodial duties related to the cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting of agency buildings in Newark to limit the potential exposure to and spread of COVID-19.

Candidates must have general knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and equipment used to clean buildings and furniture to limit potential exposure to and spread of COVID-19. Ability to learn and perform repetitive tasks quickly. Must be able to bend, reach, and stand for extended periods of time.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, and complete various background checks including a pre-employment drug screen. Salary: $12.36/hour.

FAMILY SERVICE WORKER:  This full time position with our Newark Head Start/Early Head Start Center is responsible for coordinating, collaborating and facilitating the effective delivery of social services and parent involvement to Head Start children, families and staff in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing regulations.  This position operates as a liaison between classroom and home settings. Responsible for developing a partnership with families including the following:  Assessing strengths and needs, developing goals using the Family Partnership Agreement, connecting with families resources to  meet needs, and collaborating with other agencies to ensure easy access to resources. Conduct recruitment activities according to the LEADS recruitment plan in order to maintain 100% enrollment.

The qualified candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field.  Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree, Social Work Certificate or Licensure. Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving.   Must complete a pre-employment physical examination drug screening. Salary range $12.11 – $17.39 per hour.

COACH/MENTOR: This full time position is with our Delaware Head Start/Early Head Start Program. The Coach/Mentor is responsible for mentoring, observing, training, and settings goals with teachers as part of an on-going program improvement and professional development system. Provides resources to teachers to assist them with teaching strategies and ideas. Train new teachers in the curriculum and teacher expectations for their positions. Assist teachers with behavior issues that are related to the classroom environment, routing, or teaching strategies. Provided training to parents when requested during center parent training functions. Give feedback and opportunities for goal-setting in a non-supervisory role.  Submit trainings for approval through Step Up to Quality.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Knowledge and interest of low income, preschool children and their families. Must have a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in an early childhood classroom. Must be computer literate and have experience in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and have the ability to learn new systems.  Ability to lift 45 pounds as needed. Strong organization and time management skills required.  Flexibility, willingness, and commitment to attend meetings and trainings as needed. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance for work related driving. Must complete a background check which includes BCI and FBI Criminal records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries, and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS.   A physical examination and drug screen is required before employment. Salary range $17.93 – $20.20 per hour depending upon education and license.

TEACHER:  We have positions available with our Newark and Utica Head Start/Early Head Start Centers. Please specify location when applying.  This full time position is responsible to provide a successful, safe and supervised educational setting for the children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area and field trips).  To promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of Head Start children.  To provide frequent contact with the families of the Head Start Children in the classroom and at home.  To keep accurate written notes to develop individualized goals for the children, provide on-going assessment and successful transition into Kindergarten.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or in the process of obtaining). Preference will be given to applicants with Pre-K certification or license; 2 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education program is preferred; must have experience in classroom management in a preschool setting, with an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices.  Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance for work related driving.  Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. ASSISTANT TEACHER-Full Time: We have positions with our Delaware, Marysville and Newark Head Start/Early Head Start Centers. Please specify location when applying. Must have a High School Diploma or GED required.   Must complete background check which includes BCI and FBI Criminal records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information system and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must have a High School Diploma or GED required.   Must complete background check which includes BCI and FBI Criminal records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information system and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. SUBSTITUTE ASSISTANT TEACHER: We are accepting applications for Substitute Assistant Teachers at various locations with our Head Start/Early Head Start program.  Duties include but are not limited to: Supervise and monitor children at all times. Assist classroom teacher in establishing and following a consistent schedule, which includes small and large group experiences, planning, recall, choice time, music and movement, large and small motor, outdoor play, meal(s), snack(s) and effective transitions between activities.

WEATHERIZATION TECHNICIAN: The Technician with our Community Services Division in Licking County is responsible to perform work on homes as outlined in the work order according to specific program standards. Complete any home repairs and weatherization as needed for each job. Perform general activities involving insulations, air sealing, glass and plexi-glass cutting, frame building, painting, and other duties as assigned. Perform general warehousing activities involving loading and unloading of vehicles, sorting and stocking of materials, equipment, and other related duties. Must be able to climb ladders, work in tight quarters and unclean conditions at times.  Must be able to stand for eight hours per day. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to work with and be sensitive to the needs of low-income, elderly and/or minority residents.

Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and experience and/or training in construction trade, home weatherization or related. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance. Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, and complete various background checks. Salary range: $11.31 – $12.73/hour.
