LEADS, Inc., a community action agency in Licking County, has the following job opportunities available:

FAMILY SERVICE WORKER:  This full time position with our Delaware Head Start/Early Head Start Center is responsible for coordinating, collaborating and facilitating the effective delivery of social services and parent involvement to Head Start children, families and staff in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing regulations.  This position operates as a liaison between classroom and home settings. Responsible for developing a partnership with families including the following:  Assessing strengths and needs, developing goals using the Family Partnership Agreement, connecting with families resources to  meet needs, and collaborating with other agencies to ensure easy access to resources. Conduct recruitment activities according to the LEADS recruitment plan in order to maintain 100% enrollment.

The qualified candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field.  Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree, Social Work Certificate or Licensure. Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving.   Must complete a pre-employment physical examination drug screening. Salary range $12.11 – $17.39 per hour.

TEACHER: We have full time positions with our Newark, Utica and Delaware Head Start/Early Head Start Centers.  Please specify location when applying. This position is responsible to provide a successful, safe and supervised educational setting for the children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area and field trips).  To promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of Head Start children.  To provide frequent contact with the families of the Head Start Children in the classroom and at home.  To keep accurate written notes to develop individualized goals for the children, provide on-going assessment and successful transition into Kindergarten.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or in the process of obtaining). Preference will be given to applicants with Pre-K certification or license; 2 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education program is preferred; must have experience in classroom management in a preschool setting, with an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices.  Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance for work related driving.  Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving.   Must complete a pre-employment physical examination drug screening. Salary range: $16.69 – $18.79 per hour, depending upon education and license.

ASSISTANT TEACHER-Full Time: We have positions with our Delaware and Newark Head Start/Early Head Start Centers. Please specify location when applying. This position is responsible to assist the classroom teacher in providing a successful, safe, and supervised educational setting for the children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area, and field trips). To assist the classroom teacher in promoting the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of Head Start children.  To provide frequent contact with the families of the Head Start children in the classroom and at home.  To assist the classroom teacher with keeping accurate written notes to help develop individualized goals for the children, provide on-going assessment and successful transition into Kindergarten.

The successful candidate must have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.  Preference will be given to applicants with Pre-K certification or licensure. Salary range: $9.83 – $14.30 per hour depending upon degree and license.

HOME BASE COACH/MENTOR: This full time position is with our Licking County Head Start/Early Head Start Program. The Coach/Mentor will monitor and assist with Child Assessment input for the Home Base Option and monitor data document.  Observe Home Visitors in coordination with the Home Base Manager using the forms chosen. Provide feedback to Home Visitors after observing and provide information to supervisors and the child Development Manager when needed.  Assist Home Visitors in selecting materials for the home. Conduct training for staff in group or individual sessions, documenting training that each Home Visitor has had as part of the teacher files. Conduct training for parents at parent meetings as requested and provide resources to parents as needed. Participate on the Curriculum/Literacy committee and other committee as deemed necessary.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Family Development or related field. Knowledge and interest of low income, preschool children and their families. Maintains current knowledge of children’s mental health issues. Must be computer literate and have experience in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and have the ability to learn new systems.  Ability to lift 45 pounds as needed. Strong organization and time management skills required.  Flexibility, willingness, and commitment to attend meetings and trainings as needed. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance and a clean driving record for work related driving.  Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, complete background checks, and have a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Salary range $17.93 – $20.20 per hour depending upon education and license.

FOOD SERVICE AID: This part time position (24 hours) assembles and delivers healthy meals to Head Start/Early Head Start Centers in Licking County.  Ability to lift and load food carriers from floor to van.  Ability to maintain high level of daily repetitive motion with arms and hands.  Ability to stand and walk for most of an eight (8) hour day.  Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen sanitation.

Must have a High School Diploma or GED required.   Must complete background check which includes BCI and FBI Criminal records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information system and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance for work related driving.   A physical examination and drug screen is required before employment. Salary $9.65 per hour.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST: This position with our Newark Head Start Center provides office support to the Center Administrator and teaching staff at the center.  Duties include, but are not limited to, maintain reports, filing, maintaining office supply list and order, answer incoming calls, assist is classroom as needed. Ability to lift 40 pounds. Must have strong organizational and time management skills.

The successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent with one (1) year of office administrative work.  Must have experience with computers using Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel. Must complete background check which includes BCI and FBI Criminal records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information system and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance for work related driving.   A physical examination and drug screen is required before employment. Salary range: $9.65 per hour.

WEATHERIZATION TECHNICIAN: The Technician with our Community Services Division in Licking County is responsible to perform work on homes as outlined in the work order according to specific program standards. Complete any home repairs and weatherization as needed for each job. Perform general activities involving insulations, air sealing, glass and plexi-glass cutting, frame building, painting, and other duties as assigned. Perform general warehousing activities involving loading and unloading of vehicles, sorting and stocking of materials, equipment, and other related duties. Must be able to climb ladders, work in tight quarters and unclean conditions at times.  Must be able to stand for eight hours per day. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to work with and be sensitive to the needs of low-income, elderly and/or minority residents.

Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and experience and/or training in construction trade, home weatherization or related. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance. Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, and complete various background checks. Salary range: $11.31 – $12.73/hour.

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE – Part Time: The Customer Service Representative position within our Community Services in Newark is responsible for performing general office functions such as typing filing, faxing, etc. Perform program intake and provide assistance to our clients and the community.  Responsible to collect and verify all required information and enter it into various systems.  Must be able to work with and be sensitive to the needs of low income, elderly and/or minority clients.  Answer multiline phone system and take accurate messages. Candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to perform mathematical computations.  Able to work flexible hours to meet business needs.  Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Preference will be given to candidates with 1-2+ years’ experience within the customer service environment.  Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance. Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, and complete various background checks including a pre-employment drug screen. Salary: $9.81 – $11.76/hour.

HOUSING INSPECTOR-AUDITOR: This position is with our Community Services division in Newark. The Housing Inspector will inspect each job to determine what work needs to be completed and then a final inspection to ensure that the work was done properly. Ensure Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) standards are followed for each home as outlined in the Weatherization Program Standards (WPS) manual.  Give careful attention to proper inspection, installation, or repair, and to the quality of work.

The qualified candidate must have minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Experience and/or training in construction trade, home weatherization or related field. Must have or be willing to obtain training within the first 180 days of position on the use of blower door, duct sealing/ pressure house diagnostics, inspector/estimator skills, heating unit inspections, maintenance and repair. Must have or be willing to obtain training within the first 180 days of position Building Analyst Certification, Building Performance Institute Training and American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers Certification.

Must be willing to obtain training and certifications required by the Ohio Service Department Agency. Must sign a non-conviction statement and submit to a background check, including but not limited to, BCI and FBI Criminal Records. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving.   Must complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening. Salary range $17.35 – $18.98 per hour.
