Winter Crisis Program Starts November 1st

LEADS will begin offering assistance to Licking County Residents for the Winter Crisis Program beginning on November 1, 2012.

Winter Crisis Program: The Winter Crisis Program provides financial assistance to low-income households that are threatened with disconnection of their heating source; have already had service disconnected; need to establish new service or pay to transfer service; or have 25% or less of the fuel capacity in their tank. The Winter Crisis program runs from November 1st, 2012 to March 31st, 2013.

You will need to call to contact your local service center to schedule an appointment for assistance.  When you come in for an appointment, please bring verification of your last 3 months of all household income, social security cards for all houseshold members, current electric & gas bill and driver license for the person who is applying.

Newark Center only will be taking walk-ins from 8 AM- 10 AM.

 Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP): is a federally funded program designed to help Licking County citizens with their utility bills. To be eligible for assistance you must have an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP): To be eligible for the PIPP Plus program, a customer must receive their electric or gas services from a company regulated by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), must have a total household income which is below the150 % o f the Federal poverty level, and must apply for all energy assistance programs for which he or she is eligible.
