FAMILY SERVICE WORKER:  This full time position is with our Head Start/Early Head Start Centers in Newark and Marysville. (Please specify location when applying.).  This position is responsible for coordinating, collaborating and facilitating the effective delivery of social services and parent involvement to Head Start children, families and staff in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing regulations.  This position operates as a liaison between classroom and home settings. Responsible for developing a partnership with families including the following:  Assessing strengths and needs, developing goals using the Family Partnership Agreement, connecting with families resources to  meet needs, and collaborating with other agencies to ensure easy access to resources. Conduct recruitment activities according to the LEADS recruitment plan in order to maintain 100% enrollment.

The qualified candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field.  Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree, Social Work Certificate or Licensure. Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving.   Must complete a pre-employment physical examination drug screening. Salary range $15.89 - $22.85 per hour.

 

HOME VISITOR: We have full time positions with our Head Start/Early Head Start programs in Newark and Delaware. (Please specify location when applying.) To provide in-home instruction as well as group socialization experience to parents and children which will enhance the parents’ ability to fill the role of primary nurturer of their child.  Maintain on-going contact with families and work with all components (health, nutrition, family services, mental health, special services, parent education and resource/referral) to integrate services into the family setting.  Must meet requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state, and/or agency policies and procedures. 

The ideal candidate must have or be in the process of obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.  Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate family needs, may include some evening or weekend hours. Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving.   Must complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screen. Salary range $15.89 - $22.85 depending upon education and license.

 

FOOD SERVICE AID: We have a full time positions (34 hours) with our Head Start/Early Head Start Center in Marysville. This position assembles and delivers healthy meals.  Ability to lift and load food carriers from floor to van.  Ability to maintain high level of daily repetitive motion with arms and hands.  Ability to stand and walk for most of an eight and a half (8.5) hour day.  Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen sanitation.

Must have a High School Diploma or GED required.   Must complete background check which includes BCI and FBI Criminal records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information system and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License and provide proof of auto insurance for work related driving.   A physical examination and drug screen is required before employment. Salary $13.87 per hour.

 

TEACHER:  We have full time positions with our Newark Head Start/Early Head Start Center. This position is responsible to provide a successful, safe and supervised educational setting for the children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area and field trips).  To promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of Head Start children.  To provide frequent contact with the families of the Head Start Children in the classroom and at home.  To keep accurate written notes to develop individualized goals for the children, provide on-going assessment and successful transition into Kindergarten.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or in the process of obtaining). Preference will be given to applicants with Pre-K certification or license; 2 years' experience in Early Childhood Education program is preferred; must have experience in classroom management in a preschool setting, with an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices.  Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License and provide proof of auto insurance for work related driving.  Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License, provide proof of auto insurance and have a clean driving record for work related driving.   Must complete a pre-employment physical examination drug screening. Salary range $21.90 - $24.65 per hour depending upon education and license.

Applicant must have a valid Ohio Driver's License, proof of auto insurance, and a clean driving record for work related driving.  Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, complete a background check and a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Salary range $14.97 - $21.75 per hour depending upon degree and license.

 

ASSISTANT TEACHER – Part Time (approx. 28 hours/week): This part time position is with our Pataskala Head Start/Early Head Start Center. This position is responsible to assist the classroom teacher in providing a successful, safe, and supervised educational setting for the children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area, and field trips). ACCOUNTING CLERK II: The Accounting Clerk II assists in the fiscal department in Newark under the direction of the Fiscal Assistant. This position performs accounts payable related duties, which includes preparing vouchers and tracking past due bills.  Perform bank reconciliations for all accounts, Monitor all charge card accounts. Monitor all in-kind contributions, i.e., keep running totals and filing.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Prefer training in non-profit accounting with at least two (2) years college education and/or two (2) years’ accounting experience or any combination of education and experience. Experience in Accounts Payable, Data Collection, etc. Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Must have good time management skills, ability to work under pressure and pay attention to detail. Must a have a valid Ohio Driver's License and provide proof of auto insurance. Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, and complete various background checks including a pre-employment drug screen. Salary range: $17.61 - $19.85 per hour.

 

ENERGY AUDITOR: The Energy Auditor position with our Community Services Division in Newark provides assistance and counseling to customers on ways to be more energy efficient. This full time position will maintain records and prepare reports required by the Office of Energy Efficiency, Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development and other various regulatory agencies. Provide energy efficiency services to participants in the targeted Energy Partnership Programs (EPP), to insure customers can maximize benefits of the program.

The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be willing to obtain training and certifications required by the Ohio Service Department Agency or LEADS. Candidate must be technically knowledgeable about energy usage, house as a system thinking/application, and technical benefits of measures’ installation. Able to install Electric base load measures or any other required program measures for customers. Must be able to work with and be sensitive to the needs of low-income, elderly and/or minority residents. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to suit the needs of customers.  Applicant must have a valid Ohio driver's license, be insurable, and have a clean driving record for work related driving.  Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, complete a background check, and a pre-employment drug test. Salary range $14.69 - $16.07 per hour.

 

CONSTRUCTION & CREW LABORERS: We have several positions with our Community Services Division in Licking County. Positions include HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing, Carpenters, Insulators, and General Laborers. These positions are responsible to perform work on homes as outlined in the work order according to specific program standards. Complete any home repairs and weatherization as needed for each job. Perform general activities involving insulations, air sealing, glass and Plexiglas cutting, frame building, painting, and other duties as assigned. Perform general warehousing activities involving loading and unloading of vehicles, sorting and stocking of materials, equipment, and other related duties. Must be able to climb ladders, work in tight quarters and unclean conditions at times.  Must be able to stand for eight hours per day. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to work with and be sensitive to the needs of low-income, elderly and/or minority residents.

Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent No experience Necessary as we offer paid on the job training.  Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License and provide proof of auto insurance. Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, and complete various background checks.
